SXSW Day 2

Day 2 started with a few visits to the Pitchfork day party at the warehouse, although the lines where long, I was able to go in to enjoy some really good bands.
Tampa Florida band Merchandise started the soundtrack of what the day was going to bring. The band has a very raw sound which made perfect sense for a music festival outdoor show, people didn't seem to mind the sun as they stood enjoying the sound of this band, but it made it difficult for me to snap a good photo, so my apologies.

Following Merchandize we escaped to the front venue to get some free booze and see the line up at the Fader Fort, I got to say I was not impressed by the lineup this year, but then again you are able to see some really good bands most of the years. While I was there I thought I would check out the band Sweem Deep which I could tell where inspired by the grunge in the 90's, although fashion sense aside, the band had a very solid sound and stage presence.

A bit buzz and hungry, we went back to the Pitchfork Party to see who I though it was going to be Delorean, but turned out to be Oregon band Unknown Mortal Orchestra. Which was a great surprise since I had just recently seen their performance at Late Night With Jimmy Fallon

A friend of mine texted me to come and see the Black Lips, down in Hotel Vegas, while there I got to catch a performance by LA's band Allah Las. The band really played a great set, I personally loved their track "Tell Me What on Your Mind" a great homage to the 70's.

To finish up this psychedelic day who better than the kings of psychedelia the Black Lips. I honestly haven't witness a mosh pit since the late 90's, but this was the king of reaction this guys had in the public, people where restless and rowdy I was really afraid the tarp or some lighting equipment was going to fall in someones head.
